This morning President Bush had a new conference where he blamed the democratically controlled congress for much of the country's problems.

I am aware that many Americans blame President Bush for the state of the economy, the price of gas, etc. Apparently, these people don't understand our constitution! Congress passes the legislation and the President signs them into laws. If the President vetoes the legislation then Congress can, if the votes are there, override the veto and the legislation becomes law without the President's signature. The President can not enact laws!

For the past 1 1/2 years that the Democrats have controlled Congress. They have done absolutely nothing during that time except blame the administration for everything. They have not passed any major legislation of significance. However, they have tried to enact their old tax and spend method of governing. Those few times when Congress did pass legislation it was legislation that the President said he would veto even before they started debate.

Why does Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Senator Reid continue to bad mouth and jeer the administration instead of passing meaningful legislation? Do they not understand the American public is suffering?

I believe Pelosi and Reid are trying to stall Congress and the American public until we really are in a recession and, of course, they will blame Bush! Someone tell me what Congress has done in the past 1 1/2 years!

MRS. CLINTON, AHMADINEJAD CANNOT BE DETERRED

(New York City, April 23, 2008) -- As I was driving down to the CNN studios Tuesday to tape the Glenn Beck Show, I was listening to Rush Limbaugh.

Rush was discussing Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's pledge to declare war on Iran if Iran nukes Israel. He played a clip from ABC's Good Morning America in which she said she hoped this tough talk would "deter" the Iranian leadership from attacking Israel.

Rush was already doing a great riff, analyzing Clinton's inability to understand the evil we are facing in Iran. But I shot Rush a quick email reminding him of what he and I had discussed when he interviewed me on Epicenter for The Limbaugh Letter. No one who truly understands Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's eschatology -- or end times theology -- could honestly believe that Ahmadinejad can be deterred. Ahmadinejad believes it is his God-given mission to annihilate the U.S., Israel and Judeo-Christian civilization as we know. To what end? To create the conditions that will bring the Islamic Messiah known as the Mahdi or the "12th Imam" to earth.

Ahmadinejad is not just another power-hungry dictator in the mold of the Soviet or Chinese leaders of yore. He is a Shia Islamic fascist. He believes his life destiny is to kill millions of Jews and Christians and usher in an Islamic caliphate. He believes he is a John-the-Baptist, a forerunner, of the Islamic Messiah. If he dies, he believes he will spend eternity in paradise with 72 virgins. But he doesn't really believe he's going to die. He believes he has been chosen for a divine appointment, and that nothing can stop him. That is what makes him so dangerous. Unfortunately, too many Washington politicians -- Sens. Clinton and Obama included -- do not understand this.

As you'll see from the following excerpts, Rush picked up on this analysis on today's broadcast.

RUSH: We have the Hillary comment about nuking Iran from Good Morning America today. Chris Cuomo said, "You said, 'If Iran were to strike Israel, there would be a massive retaliation.' Scary words, Mrs. Clinton. Does 'massive retaliation' mean you go into Iran, you would bomb Iran? Is that what that's supposed to suggest?"

HILLARY: Well, the question was if Iran were to launch a nuclear attack on Israel, what would our response be? And I want the Iranians to know that if I'm the president, we will attack Iran, and I want them to understand that, because it does mean that they have to look very carefully, uh, at their society. Because at whatever stage of development they might be in their nuclear weapons program, in the next ten years, during which they might foolishly consider launching an attack on Israel, we would be able to totally obliterate them. That's like a terrible thing to say, but those people who run Iran need to understand that because that perhaps will deter them from doing something that would be reckless, foolish, and tragic.

RUSH: I'm sure they're quaking in their boots. Now, here's the problem. Little Mahmoud Ahmadinejad probably has his feelings hurt all to hell today because he's for Mrs. Clinton. He's for Mr. Obama. He thinks that they are allies, and now Mrs. Clinton on Good Morning America today promised to obliterate him and his little country if he took out Israel. Now, there's a story in the LA Times today from Tehran, and the headline is: "Iran Watching US Campaigns with Hope for Detente." Iran is watching US campaign with hope for detente! This is not detente when you promise to obliterate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his country. "If an Iranian woke up in America and glimpsed the front page of a newspaper, he'd be reminded of home: a teetering economy, a restless populace, a tough-talking leader." Give me a break! Are you kidding me? The LA Times just compared Iran to the United States of America. Anyway, "This nation is fascinated by what it calls the Great Satan..." Remember, this is written from Iran.....

RUSH: One more thing on Mrs. Clinton and Iran. You know, we've spoken with the author Joel Rosenberg on this program. He has written a series of thriller novels, and in addition to writing... His thriller novels actually related to current events. [He notes that] Mrs. Clinton thinks that she was Miss Tough Guy by saying to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, "Hey, look, pal. You attack Israel, we're going to annihilate you," and she's talking about how she can deter Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with this kind of talk. What she doesn't understand is, Ahmadinejad cannot be deterred. All of you people out there who hate religious fanatics, and think religious fanatics have no place in American government and life and you want to compare "religious fanatics" in this country to religious fanatics around the world? The babes at The View do that. A lot of liberals say, "There's no difference in Christians and Islamofascists," and so forth and so on. The libs like to say this. But there is a huge difference, huge. Ahmadinejad cannot be deterred. He believes, and the reason he's out there rattling sabers and promising to do this. He's telling us everything he's going to do. It's just so unpleasant, people don't want to listen to it -- and Obama's naive, too. Obama thinks he can schedule a meeting with Ahmadinejad and talk him out of his intentions! Hillary thinks with big talk she can deter him, but this guy is a religious nutcase who believes that his God-given mission as president of Iran is to annihilate the US and Israel. And why? Because it is those two acts which will usher in the 12th Imam -- the 12th Imam, who's hiding in some well somewhere! He's at the bottom of a well, and when the two great Satans are destroyed (the United States and Israel), then the 12th Imam, who is the Islamic messiah, will make his grand reappearance. Ahmadinejad believes this, and he's out there saying it, and he's writing about it. People want to chalk him up to being some little lunatic, and he is. He's a total lunatic driven by a religious fervor. The point is, he can't be deterred. So when I read stories sitting around hoping for détente? Of course they're hoping for detente. They would love for somebody in this country who is weak and thinks that he can bargain with this kind of evil to be elected.

Dead Heat by Joel Rosenberg is the fifth and final volume in the fictional The Last Jihad series. Joel has an uncanny way of writing his novels in a very prophetic manner. This is no exception.

Dead Heat is one of the fastest paced stories I have experienced. It is spell bounding, intriguing, insightful, Biblical based (Ezekiel 39-39) and, already, prophetic. It was not only Biblical prophetic but current event prophetic.

I was amazed at, not only, how fast the story moved but, also, how fast the pages were turned. I was done with the book when I felt like I had just started. It is one of those books you feel like you can't put down. You can't wait to see the next turn of events and those events are surprising, shocking, suspenseful, eerie and disturbing.

What is it about? Well, it about the aftermath of a nuclear attack against the United States with the prime targets being Washington D.C. and San Francisco. San Francisco being the location of the Republican National Convention. Other critical cities are hit, but one of the twists is how the nukes were delivered to each city... It probably won't be what you expect unless you have read Mr. Rosenberg's non-fiction book, Epicenter.

Although you don't necessarily need to read the four (4) previous books in the Last Jihad series to understand what is happening in Dead Heat I have no doubt you would enjoy each. Those books in order are: The Last Jihad, The Last Days, The Ezekiel Option and The Copper Scroll.

 

Epicenter: why the Current Rumblings in the Middle East Will Change Your Future was Mr. Rosenberg's first book. It was originally completed immediately prior to 9/11. He decided to not publish it because some of the things written were too similar to the 9/11 happening. After a period of time he and his publisher decided to go ahead with publication.

Of course, all of this is explained in the book. There is no way I could write a review to entice readers to invest time and money in this book so I have copied the description from Mr. Rosenberg's web site.

The following was emailed to me by a friend. I don't know the original source but it is quite an editorial.

The Lawyer's Party

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers. Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are lawyers. John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for president, is a lawyer and so is his wife Elizabeth. Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate). Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Benson, went to law school. Look at the Democrat Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.  President Bush and Vice President Cheney were not lawyers, but businessmen.  The leaders of the Republican Revolution were not lawyers.  Newt Gingrich was a history professor;  Tom Delay was an exterminator; and  Dick Armey was an economist.   House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer, not a lawyer.  The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer?  Gerald Ford, who left office thirty-one years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.  The Republican Party is made up of real people doing real work.  The Democratic Party is made up of lawyers.  Democrats mock and scorn men who create wealth, like Bush and Cheney, or who heal the sick like Frist, or who immerse themselves in history like Gingrich.

The Lawyers' Party sees these sorts of people, who provide goods and services that people want, as the enemies of America .  And so we have seen the procession of official enemies in the eyes of the Lawyers' Party grow.  Against whom do Hillary and Obama rail?  Pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, hospitals, manufacturers, fast food restaurant chains, large retail businesses, bankers and anyone producing anything of value in our nation.

This is the natural consequence of viewing everything through the eyes of lawyers.  Lawyers solve problems by successfully representing their clients, in this case the American people.  Lawyers seek to have new laws passed, they seek to win lawsuits, they press appellate courts to overturn precedent, and lawyers always parse language to favor their side.

Confined to the narrow practice of law, that is fine.  But it is an awful way to govern a great nation.  When politicians as lawyers begin to view some Americans as clients and other Americans as opposing parties, then the role of the legal system in our life becomes all consuming.   Some Americans become "adverse parties" of our very government.  We are not all litigants in some vast social class action suit.  We are citizens of a republic which promises us a great deal of freedom from laws, from courts, and from lawyers.

Today, we are drowning in laws, we are contorted by judicial decisions, we are driven to distraction by omnipresent lawyers in all parts of our once private lives.  America has a place for laws and lawyers, but that place is modest and reasonable, not vast and unchecked.  When the most important decision for our next president is whom he will appoint to the Supreme Court, the role of lawyers and the law in America is too big.  When lawyers use criminal prosecution as a continuation of politics by other means, as happened in the lynching of Scooter Libby and Tom Delay, then the power of lawyers in America is too great.  When House Democrats sue America in order to hamstring our efforts to learn what our enemies are planning to do to use, then the role of litigation in America has become crushing.

We cannot expect the  Lawyers' Party to provide real change, real reform  or real hope in America .  Most Americans know that a republic in which every major government action must be blessed by nine unelected judges is not what Washington intended in 1789.  Most Americans grasp that we cannot fight a war when ACLU lawsuits snap at the heels of our defenders.  Most Americans intuit that more lawyers and judges will not restore declining moral values or spark the spirit of enterprise in our economy.

Perhaps Americans will understand that change cannot be brought to our nation by those lawyers who already largely dictate American society and business.  Perhaps Americans will see that hope does not come from the mouths of lawyers but from personal dreams nourished by hard work.  Perhaps Americans will embrace the truth that more lawyers with more power will only make our problems worse.

Jimmy Carter Crosses the Line- April 21, 2008

I've been very slow to sour on Jimmy Carter.  Yes, he has become increasingly one-sided in his views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.  And yes, he has demonstrated a troubling tendency to coddle dictators while holding Israel under the most powerful of microscopes.  But I've always remembered that this was the man who helped to engineer a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt.  The fact that Israel's southern border with Egypt is quiet is thanks in large part to Jimmy Carter.

My reservoir of good will for Jimmy Carter is now bone dry.  Carter has now crossed a bright red line.  He has taken actions that no reasonable interlocutor can take.  He has met with and literally embraced the leaders of Hamas. 

We and he all know what Hamas is.  Hamas is an organization that has never renounced terrorism but which actively promotes and celebrates it.  Hamas is an organization that does not recognize Israel but loudly calls for her destruction.   Hamas does not participate in the peace process because Hamas rejects the foundational principle of the peace process: mutual recognition.  While Israel, the United States and the European Union work to isolate Hamas, Carter has now chosen to end this isolation with his warm embrace. 

The double standard implicit in this meeting shocks the conscience.  Would Carter hug Osama bin Laden?  I don't think so.  But what is the difference between Hamas and al Qaeda?  They both embrace terror, and they have both amassed grisly body counts to demonstrate the depth of their depravity.  As far as I can tell, they differ only in their choice of target.  Bin Laden targets Americans, among others.  Hamas targets Israelis.  And when the victims are Israelis, Carter seems much quicker to forgive and forget.

Beyond his moral blindness, Carter's naivete is quite shocking.  Upon leaving his meeting with Hamas' leader Khalid Meshal, Carter announced that Hamas would support any peace deal reached between Israel and the Palestinians so long as it was approved by a referendum of the Palestinian people.  Poor Jimmy Carter.  Did it not occur to him that people who are so callous with thier bombs and missiles might not be so careful with their words?  By the end of the day, a Hamas spokesman clarified that Hamas would not be bound by any such referendum.  By word and deed, Hamas remains an enemy of peace. 

So much for Jimmy Carter.  He's worn out his credibility and his welcome.  It's time to move on to more relevant topics.

(Jerusalem, Israel, April 21, 2008) -- Confession: I once regarded Jimmy Carter as one of America's best ex-President's, due to his work with Habitat For Humanity, his compassion for the poorest and neediest in our country, and his passion for mobilizing others to turn their faith into action to care for those in need.

Correction: I was wrong.

While Mr. Carter's humanitarian relief instincts and efforts have been laudable, they do not begin to compensate for his series of disastrous foreign policy moves over the years, up to and including meeting with senior Hamas leaders in Damascus and embracing senior Hamas leaders from the West Bank, and suggesting publicly that Hamas leaders really do want peace with Israel when they repeatedly, regularly, and so clearly state that they do not.

This week, Mr. Carter clinched the title of worst ex-President in American history. Worse than Clinton. Worse than Nixon. Worse than Hoover. The former peanut farmer from Georgia conclusively demonstrated this week that he has absolutely no ability to discern evil from good.

Hamas (an acronym for the "Islamic Resistance Movement") is a radical jihadist organization of the worst kind, dedicated to the utter annihilation of the Jewish State and the Jewish people. Read the Hamas charter, its founding, governing document. It states clearly that Hamas rejects all forms of peace treaties. Violent jihad, they believe, is the only way.

"[Peace] initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. For renouncing any part of Palestine means renouncing part of the religion; the nationalism of the Islamic Resistance Movement is part of its faith, the movement educates its members to adhere to its principles and to raise the banner of Allah over their homeland as they fight their Jihad."

Since 1989, Hamas has launched more than 100 terrorist operations against Israel, resulting in the deaths of more than 500 Israelis. What's more, Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups have also fired at least 6,000 missiles, rockets and mortars from Gaza at innocent Jews and Christians in southern Israel since the summer of 2005 when Israeli military forces withdrew from Gaza.

On February 3, 2006, Hamas leader Khaled Mash'al delivered a sermon at a mosque in Damascus, directly threatening the national security of the United States, the European Union, and Israel.

"America will be defeated in Iraq," Mash'al declared. "Wherever the [Islamic] nation is targeted, its enemies will be defeated, Allah willing. The nation of Muhammad is gaining victory in Palestine. The nation of Muhammad is gaining victory in Iraq, and it will be victorious in all Arab and Muslim lands. 'Their multitudes will be defeated and turn their backs [and flee].' These fools will be defeated, the wheel of time will turn, and times of victory and glory will be upon our nation, and the West will be full of remorse, when it is too late....We say to this West, which does not act reasonably, and does not learn its lessons: By Allah, you will be defeated. Israel will be defeated, and so will whoever supported or supports it.… I say to the [European countries]: Hurry up and apologize to our nation, because if you do not, you will regret it....Before Israel dies, it must be humiliated and degraded. America will be of no avail to them. Their generals will be of no avail to them. The last of their generals has been forgotten. Allah has made him disappear. He's over. Gone is that Sharon behind whose back they would hide and find shelter, and with whom they would feel relatively secure. Today they have frail leaders, who don't even know where our Lord placed them. Allah willing, we will make them lose their eyesight, we will make them lose their brains."

What is it about evil that Mr. Carter doesn't understand? He didn't understand the threat of radical Islam back in 1979 when his policies helped topple the Shah of Iran and bring to power the Ayatollah Khomeini. Nearly thirty years later, he doesn't understand the genocidal, apocalyptic ambitions of Khomeini's jihadist disciples.

Sadly, he is not alone. I don't believe that Sens. Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton understand the magnitude of the threat from radical Islam. Indeed, there are millions of Americans asleep to the threat. And this is the central theme of my current novel, Dead Heat: "to misunderstand the nature and threat of evil, is to risk being blindsided by it." America was blindsided by Pearl Harbor. We were blindsided by Auschwitz. We were blindsided by al-Qaeda on 9/11. We were blindsided by evils we didn't see or didn't fully appreciate. But in the age of the rising threat of nuclear terrorism, can we afford to be blindsided again? [full article]

carter, naive or out of touch?

Former President Carter says that Hamas would except Israel's right to exist. If so, the first step to confirm this is for them to pull out of Lebanon, lay down all weaponry and release Israeli prisoners.

Is Hamas willing to give any concessions? Sure, they are willing to return one (1) Israeli prisoner in exchange for 79 Palestinian prisoners.

And Carter thinks this signifies progress. Give me a break... Carter go home to Plains!

Of course Israel has a right to exist... they are God's chosen people. The Bible says "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you."

How can we fix America

The following is a guest post from Thomas Kassin.

There  is still a chance that we can fix America.  The moral code has been so eroded that Christianity is barely visible.  Yet it is possible to turn things around.  Look at Nineveh and how the people repented and God was merciful with them.  If the Christians of this country will collectively humble themselves and fast and pray perhaps God will allow another generation to experience His blessing.  That is the beginning.  If we don't, then we may only have a very short time before we experience hardship and the great falling away. 

There are several things that we need to do as a country if we want to survive. 

First we need to bring all of our armed forces home from around the world.  Yes even Iraq.  Do you think the world will fall apart if we do?  Why?  Lets look at the alternative.  If we don't, it will bring this country to bankruptcy. We are spending money that we have no way of paying back.  There has to be a reckoning concerning runaway spending.  Next consider how we would react if a foreign power came to America marched in and took over!!  Would we like it?  Sure there have been times in history where we needed to be involved in foreign wars.  During those times we had clear objectives, and we achieved them.  Let the people of Iraq pick up the pieces and rebuild their country.  If the will sell us oil for a reasonable price they will have all the money they need to do so.  Which brings us to the next point.. Oil prices.  There is an easy way to fix this problem.  We need to stop any export of oil from the United States.  Why are we selling Alaskan oil to Japan and buying oil from the Middle East?  If we tell Saudi Arabia to keep their oil and buy from Canada and Mexico and several other friendly sourced [sic] it would drive prices down overnight.  We have also recently discovered a vast oil reserve in Montana.  Lets use it.  The oil crisis is completely manufactured and can be turned around with just a little wisdom.

Next, it is time to stop sending money all over the world to buy influence.  It is time to get our own house in order.  Our government has become so drunk with power they cannot make sound judgments.  This money at one time might have been helpful to some struggling countries, but it is so out of control it is drowning us all in debt we can't afford.  The world will not fall apart if we stop.  When some catastrophic event occurs we are often the first there to help. And the government doesn't need to be involved.  There are several charitable organizations at the ready to help.  If our economy stumbles people will not be able to afford to help.  We need to start spending money at home to fix roads and bridges instead of handing it to foreign governments.  Lets put our own people to work.  Welfare hasn't worked here and it won't work on an International level either.  It just leads to dependency and abuse.  It used to be that if someone was struggling they turned to family or church for help.  At least then there was some accountability. 

The next problem we need to fix is illegal immigration.  If Mexicans want to come here and earn some money to take back home,  that is fine.  We can allow them temporary green cards to work and pay a percentage of their earnings to taxes.  This could not in any way be tied to Social Security.  They would not be given educations or free health care.  There would have to be strict time limits, and anyone violating them would be banned from coming back.  We do love our neighbors and are willing to work together to solve this problem, if they are.  Any illegals [sic] now here would be allowed to apply for green cards from their home country.   Also, America is spending a lot of money in Mexico to help build their economy.  With some cooperation they can be a prosperous country.

None of this will work if people aren't willing to turn to God.  Bring back The 10 Commandments and discipline to our schools.  Call out to our Media to speak the truth and not propaganda.  Insist that the entertainment industry clean up it's act.  We are sick of the homosexual agenda and people celebrating childbirth outside of wedlock.  While we are at it how about getting rid of the flesh parade thrown in the faces of America.  It's one thing to look elegant and quite another to be pornographic.  And finally it's time to take Congress, The President, and The Supreme Court to the woodshed.  Read the preamble to our Constitution, "We are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights."  Our Creator means that as a country we acknowledge God.  If you don't want to do so then we Americans call for your immediate resignation.  We have had about all we can take.  We hereby hold you all accountable.  You cannot uphold the constitution unless you believe in God!!

Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following. A little over one year ago:

1. Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2. Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3. The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:

1. Consumer confidence plummet;
2. The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3. Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4. American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5. Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6. 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it! Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President. He has to work with what's handed to him.

Former President Carter once again slapped Israel and the American people in the face by honoring Arafat. Arafat, a known terrorist, liar, embezzler and enemy of the U.S. and Israel should certainly not be honored by any American, little less a former President.

He is the absolute worst President in American history. His only hope to a Presidential legacy was his time after his Presidency and he has now established that legacy... a traitor to Israel and the U.S. and an embracer of terrorists.

(Jerusalem, Israel, April 17, 2008) -- One week ago today, my colleagues and I were holding our inaugural Epicenter Conference in Jerusalem, discussing the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39 which foretell the rise of a dictator in Russia who forms strategic alliances in the "last days" not only with Iran but also with Libya.

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin is actually in Libya, the first Russian leader in history to visit the North African country, creating a strategic alliance, signing numerous agreements, and negotiating a $2.5 billion arms sale to this enormous and historic enemy of Israel.

"Libyan leader Moamer Kadhafi hailed Russian President Vladimir Putin's official visit as 'historic and strategic' during a state dinner at the Bab Azizia palace," reported Agence France Presse. "'This is the first visit by a Russian president to Libya. It is a historic, strategic and very important visit,' Kadhafi said in a speech....'The trip will enable increased cooperation, given that we are both producers of gas and oil,' Kadhafi said. 'We will work together to defend our interests.' Libya is a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2007-2008, and Khadafi said the world body needed to be reformed in order to face what he called an "imbalance of forces" internationally. Putin, who spoke in Russian, said: 'We must reflect on the project to reform the United Nations' and referred to 'a friendly country on the Security Council with which we can work together to resolve problems.' The Russian president said 'a large number of agreements' would be signed between the two countries during his 24-hour visit to Libya. Putin arrived in Tripoli on Wednesday at the head of a large delegation for a visit expected to be dominated by talks over energy contracts and arms sales."

Is this proof that the prophecies found in Ezekiel 38-39 are close to fulfillment? This is a question I have addressed in the Epicenter book and film, and addressed at last week's conference. Let me state again in no uncertain terms that in my view it remains too early to draw such a definitive conclusion. More would have to happen geopolitically to cause me to be able to state publicly and with assurance that we were about to see the "War of Gog and Magog" come to pass in our lifetime, much less soon.

That said, however, Putin's historic trip to Libya today -- along with many of Putin's moves over the past eight years, including his historic visit to Iran last fall -- have been remarkably, even eerily, consistent with Biblical prophecy. Which is why a large and growing number of people are asking such questions.

For now, the bigger question is: Are evangelical Christians doing everything we possibly can to pray for peace and prepare for war in the Middle East?

School coach violated religion ban in prayer ritual: US court

WASHINGTON (AFP) — A football coach violated a ban on teaching religion in public schools when he joined his players in kneeling and head-bowing rituals before games, a US appeals court ruled Tuesday.

The decision could have national implications and may ultimately affect thousands of schools throughout the United States, many of which are believed to employ coaches who engage in prayer with their teams.

Marcus Borden, a Spanish teacher and coach since 1983 at East Brunswick High School in the eastern state of New Jersey, routinely joined in prayers at team meals and invited his players to drop to one knee in a silent locker-room prayer before kick-off.

In 2005 some parents complained of what they saw as Borden introducing religion into the public school system -- an act banned by the US Constitution which calls for the separation of church and state.

The Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, ruled that Borden's extensive involvement with the team's prayers violated the Establishment clause of the Constitution's First Amendment.

"When viewing the acts in light of Borden's 23 years of prior prayer activities with the East Brunswick High School football team during which he organized, participated in, and even led prayer activities with his team, a reasonable observer would conclude that Borden was endorsing religion when he engaged in these acts," the court said in a statement.

Following the parent complaints in 2005, the school ordered that students be allowed to retain their constitutional rights to pray, but that teachers could not participate.

Borden reportedly had earlier sued the school district for his right to silently join his players in the pre-game ritual. In July 2006 a judge upheld Borden's right to do so, but the appeals court annuled [sic] the decision.

Obviously, the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals does not support the First Amendment or freedom of religion. This is disgusting but it goes back to the separation of church and state issue that does not exist. There is nothing in the Constitution about separation of church and state. In addition, this particular case sounds like the prayers are being held by the students not the coach. There is nothing in the Constitution or previous court ruling that prohibit students from conducting prayers.

Christians should support this coach and he should take this on the the U.S. Supreme Court.

During his meeting with Jimmy Carter Sunday, Israeli President Shimon Peres sharply criticized the former US president for his latest book in which he called Israel an apartheid state. Peres said Carter's activities over the last few years had caused grave damage to Israel and the peace process. Over the years I have read many of former President Jimmy Carter's books and have enjoyed all of them. However, those days are over. I will not read or recommend any of his books as long as continues to hold his current beliefs about Israel. Israel is a friend of the United States and more importantly than that, Israel is God's chosen people.

Carter is out to do as much harm as possible to the diplomatic efforts of the Bush administration. Any presidential candidate that does not condemn Carter meeting with Hamas has no business being president. Since Carter has already pretty much aligned himself with Obama, Obama should be condemning him. Since there has been no comment by Obama we can only speculate that he is blessing this adventure of Carter's.

Carter has become delusional with his own ego and has convinced himself that he is a world peace maker. Well when he was President he sure wasn't a peace maker; he under estimated our enemies and brought this country to the brink of financial ruin.

Mr. Carter, it's time for you to go home to Plains and raise peanuts!

'What Will Carter’s Meeting With Hamas Accomplish?'

...Naturally this statement begs several questions. Does Carter consider Khaled Meshal a defender of human rights? If he believes Meshal is a defender of human rights why does Meshal praise Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s statements the Holocaust is a myth and that Israel should be wiped off the map as “courageous declarations’? Does Carter believe Hamas seeks to build a peaceful and democratic society? If he believes Hamas seeks to build a peaceful and democratic society why does the Hamas Charter call for the State of Israel to be destroyed and replaced with a Palestinian state based on Islamic law?

If Carter honestly believes Meshal is a defender of human rights and also believes Hamas seeks to build a peaceful and democratic society then the former President is a fool who ought not to be suffered gladly.
But it is possible Carter does realize Meshal is no defender of human rights. It is also possible he knows Hamas wants a peaceful and democratic society about as much as Robert Mugabe wants to voluntarily leave power in Zimbabwe. In that case, why is Carter meeting with Meshal? What does he think he will accomplish?

For one thing, Carter gets one last chance to give the Bush Administration the one finger salute and undermine its position. He also gets yet another chance to stick a thumb to the eye of American Jews who have been increasingly critical of him in recent years.

It also gives Carter a platform to state he is restoring America’s good name by talking with its adversaries. This, of course, assumes America was ever in good standing with the likes of Hamas or that America should want to be in good standing with Hamas.

A visit with Meshal also gives Carter a forum to tell the world Hamas are a happy go lucky kind of people who want to live in peace with their Zionist comrades. I am sure he would tell Americans they have an inordinate fear of Hamas. After all, this is a man who said in Man From Plains that Ismail Haniyeh, the Prime Minister of the Hamas government in Gaza, supports peace talks between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Former President Carter is out of touch with America. The Bush administration should deny Carter and his group the privilege of traveling to the mid-east.

Carter has no business talking to Hamas or any other terrorist organization. While in office he proved in Iran that he had no concept of handling foreign political affairs. He was completely out of touch regarding the state of affairs in Iran and thought that the Ayatollah was just a "nice old religious man."

History proves that Carter has never been a friend of Israel. Carter claims to be a Christian but I don't understand how he can be when he keeps stabbing them in the back. The Bible says about Israel "I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you." When Carter stands before our Lord on Judgement Day he will definitely not receive any rewards for his stand and treatment of Israel, God's chosen people.

This is a powerful video that all Christians should watch. I am glad that this is finally coming out and making the rounds.

I read this book (A New Earth) and found it quite disturbing. Several times I contemplated discontinuance but I decided I was strong enough to finish the book and see if Tolle backed off his initial sacrilegious stand… he did not! I have contemplated this book for the past couple of weeks, since finishing it, and continue to find it disturbing.

In one respect this book if very early 70’s ish from the “me first” attitude of the era. But, this book is so much more deceiving and in my opinion evil.

I am extremely disappointed that Oprah 1) chose this for her book club, 2) is conducting weekly classes to deceive millions, and 3) seems to have elevated Tolle to some type of “high priest”.

If you haven’t read A New Earth DON’T! If you have read it then get busy reading the New Testament. You will need serious spiritual help immediately!

I am currently reading “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis. So far it is proving to be a great counter point, counter balance and truth to follow up with!

Richardson tells Clintons to move on

After feuding with Hillary Clinton supporters for days about his endorsement of Barack Obama, Bill Richardson has a simple message for them: Get over it.

Appearing on CNN Wednesday, the New Mexico governor categorically denied that he had told Bill Clinton that he would not endorse Obama -- as the former president reportedly told Democratic leaders in California recently.

Another one of those accusing Richardson of going back on his word, James Carville, has called Richardson a Judas for what he described as an act of betrayal for accepting high posts in Bill Clinton's administration -- then stiffing the former first lady when she needed his endorsement.

Richardson told CNN that he was close to endorsing her, but backed off when the campaign got nasty. When he announced his support for Obama last month, he called him a "once-in-a-lifetime leader."

"The Clintons should get over this," Richardson said on CNN.

This whole thing makes the Clintons look like big cry babies! Instead of making accusations maybe Hillary should be questioning why former supporters of Bill don't want to support her. It sure makes some of the "Hillary horror stories" appear to be true when people that have been close to Bill don't want anything to do with Hillary. Maybe her socialist stand on issues isn't what the country wants or needs!
