A little satire - with my comments

My dislike of liberals and liberal media is unquestionable... I hope!

I would love to see Obama with Sean Hannity.

The Clintons have always been the darlings of the liberal media.

clip_image003
It always comes back to bite!

Doesn't it make one feel secure to see the liberal run?

Would you like some cheese with your "whine?"

Like it or not, Mr. Bush's war saves the liberals too.

Oh, but we're safe.

Biden loses debate

Less than two hours prior to the Vice Presidential debate Biden has already lost the debate. As long as Gwen Ifell remains as the moderator it proves that the Obama campaign knows they need to cheat to win.

Ifill has written a book about Obama scheduled to hit the stands on inauguration day. If Obama wins the election she stands to make a good deal of money on this book. She has every reason to make Biden look good tonight and Palin to look poor.

The liberal main stream media has decided that the American public isn't smart enough to figure this one out so they aren't reporting this conflict of interest. You can bet that if the moderator had written a book about McCain the liberal media would be reporting, screaming and breaking into regular programming to report it. This move by the liberal media, led by Couric, Williams and Gibson, follows through with their decisions that the American public isn't smart enough to elect a President without their bias.

Remember the old days when network news reported the news instead of making the news and reporting their editorial stands as news. All of the liberal network news agencies, including PBS and NPR are biased. They all report their editorial opinions like they are news with no disclaimers. There is no journalism left in any of these outlets. Journalism was discarded when they began ignoring the news and started inventing the news, as they wanted it to be.

Although it isn't going to happen the American public should abandon and boycott the debate tonight.

Who's to Blame

Obviously, Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Charles Shumer, Barak Obama, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and all their other old crony liberal democrats. All of these people still in office should resign. Their partisanship has cost the American public $700 billion +. They were supposed to be protecting us and instead they took dollars from Fannie and Freddie.

All of these people want to turn this country into a a socialist state and take everything we all have. If these people don't love this country enough to resign I can only hope the voters in their states will turn them loose when they are up for re-election.

financial crisis

Without a doubt the current U.S. financial crisis is caused by the sub-prime mortgage game that many financial institutions went crazy with. Yes, the financial institutions got into a game that threatened the economy. Now, we are talking about forming a bureaucracy to handle and own all these bad mortgages.

The ones that are really to blame for this mess are the bureaucrats that were supposed to be providing oversight of the industry. That is the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), financial institution outside auditors and staff auditors. These people and agencies are charged with insuring that financial institutions adhere to "safe and sound" business practices.

After the debacle of the late 1980's and early 1990's with the savings and loans one would think they learned a few lessons. The Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) was formed to handle the assets of the failed S&L's. It was a giant black whole with more waste than any one human can imagine. The cost of that bailout would have been a lot less if someone had control of the bureaucrats. At no time did that agency have a handle on what was going on inside their own agency. And Congress didn't want to know!

You ask how I know this? At that time, I was working for a FDIC owned S&L that was formed from three failed S&L's. The FDIC actually owned the S&L and hired a company to manage it. While I was there RTC came in and closed the government owned S&L. Their response was that they didn't know it was a FDIC S&L.

This is what we are going to have to look forward to with this new agency that President Bush proposed this morning. And once again Congress isn't going to want to hear about the waste. Which ever presidential candidate wins the election will distance himself from this "solution" and condemn the other party for enacting it.

And the fun continues...

liberal discrimination

Last Friday morning I had the opportunity to watch CNN for 3-4 hours. I have heard for years on conservative talk radio about how liberal CNN is and how they push the liberal agenda. Well, I must agree after being exposed to the channel for a prolonged period of time. They spent the entire time lauding Senator Obama and Senator Biden and their speeches. This was at the time that McCain was announcing his running mate, Palin. They gave the McCain announcement a blurb along the bottom of the screen and never even mentioned the announcement.

Liberal democrats are still pushing the "fairness doctrine" which would apply to talk radio but not to newspapers and television. They want conservative talk radio stopped by putting liberal speakers on to counter the conservative side. Unfortunately, I haven't found anyone who is interested in listening to people like Alan Colmes. People like Colmes is why liberal talk shows don't survive. If the "fairness doctrine" is re-established it the liberal want it to apply to talk radio and blogs, which would include MySpace and other networking web sites. We should all oppose any effort to re-establish this biased regulation if it doesn't apply to all media, including newspapers, television and radio... which is why the liberals won't allow it!

The following was posted today on Joel Rosenberg's web blog:

September 3, 2008

THE CENTRAL, DEFINING ISSUE IS JUDGMENT

What kind of judgment does Sen. Obama have?

What kind of judgment does Sen. Obama have?

Understanding how to protect American lives and American interests from serious threats in Iran, Iraq and Russia and helping the U.S. establish real energy independence in the years ahead are among the defining issues of this presidential campaign. Senator Obama and his chief advisors all but concede he has almost no foreign policy experience. He was, after all, a community organizer and has spent most of his time in the Senate running for President. But to a man, the Obama camp says experience is not that important. The central and defining issue, they argue, is a candidate’s judgment.  This is why Sen. Obama himself said in his

acceptance speech in Denver: “If John McCain wants to have a debate about who has the temperament, and judgment, to serve as the next Commander-in-Chief, that’s a debate I’m ready to have.”

It is indeed a debate worth having. The problem is, Senator Obama has shown disastrous judgment on Iran, Iraq, Russia and energy independence. Consider a few examples:

OBAMA SAID IRAN IS A TINY COUNTRY AND NOT A SERIOUS THREAT: “Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union,” said Sen. Obama in a May 2008 speech to a town hall meeting during his primary campaign. “They don’t pose a serious threat to us the way the Soviet Union posed a threat to us . . . . Iran, they spend 1/100th of what we spend on the military. If Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn’t stand a chance.” The media and Democratic establishment was stunned. The next day, Obama changed course and gave prepared speech saying Iran is a grave threat. But his initial, gut instincts were telling — and wrong. Iran is a real and grave and growing threat to the national security of the U.S. and our allies.

OBAMA SAID THE “SURGE” IN IRAQ WOULDN’T WORK, AND WOULD MAKE THINGS WORSE: “I am not persuaded that 20,000 additional troops in Iraq is going to solve the sectarian violence there [in Iraq],” said Sen. Obama during a January 2007 TV interview the night President Bush announced the policy of putting more troops in Iraq. “In fact, I think it will do the reverse.” Just one problem: the surge has worked phenomenally well. We’re winning in Iraq. And we will soon be able to bring our troops home in victory and with honor.

OBAMA STILL REFUSES TO SAY THE “SURGE” IS WORKING NOW: During a July 2008 interview with Sen. Obama on ABC News, Terry Moran noted that “Iraqis’ rejection of both al Qaeda and Shiite extremists have transformed the country,” that ”attacks are down more than 80% nationwide,” and “U.S. combat casualties have plummeted, five this month so far, compared with 78 last July, and Baghdad has a pulse again,” he asked Sen. Obama, “If you had to do it over again, knowing what you know now, would you — would you support the surge?” Sen. Obama said “no.” Moran was stunned. But the Senator continued, “Well, no, keep — these kinds of hypotheticals are very difficult. Hindsight is 20/20. I think what I am absolutely convinced of is that at that time, we had to change the political debate, because the view of the Bush administration at that time was one that I just disagreed with.” Moran finally concluded: “And so, when pressed, Barack Obama says he still would have opposed the surge.” It’s one thing to have flawed judgment and making a major foreign policy mistake. But should one not at least concede the obvious and give credit where credit is due? It was Sen. McCain who championed the “surge” and persuaded President Bush to go along. The facts are clear, even to the media. McCain was right. Obama was wrong.

OBAMA TOLD GEORGIA TO SHOW RESTRAINT WHEN RUSSIA INVADED HER: “I strongly condemn the outbreak of violence in Georgia, and urge an immediate end to armed conflict,” Sen. Obama said in a statement. “Now is the time for Georgia and Russia to show restraint, and to avoid an escalation to full-scale war.” The entire free world condemned Vladimir Putin and the Russian government for raping and pillaging a small but free and democratic country. Why in the world would Sen. Obama urge Georgia to show restraint in defending her people and her freedom? Eventually, Obama corrected his mistake and sounded a little tougher on Russia. But his first instincts were dead wrong, demonstrating his judgment was seriously flawed.

OBAMA OPPOSES DRILLING FOR AMERICAN OIL IN AMERICA AND OFFSHORE: “[O]ffshore oil drilling will have little impact on prices,” Sen. Obama said in an August 2008 speech in Iowa. “It won’t lower prices today. It won’t lower prices during the next administration. In fact, we won’t see a drop of oil from this drilling for almost 10 years.” Without drilling for American oil in America, how does Sen. Obama plan to wean us off of Middle Eastern oil and protect our energy security? After all, we actually have a lot of oil we could use for ourselves — if we could only drill for it. “The Department of the Interior estimates that there are 112 billion barrels of technically recoverable oil beneath U.S. federal lands and coastal waters,” noted Investor’s Business Daily in July. “That’s enough oil to power 60 million cars for 60 years. That’s not counting the trillion barrels locked up in shale rock — three times the total oil reserves of Saudi Arabia.” True, Obama has shifted his position slightly — but his first instincts were wrong, raising even more questions about his judgment.

The democrats have suddenly developed a keen sense of morality.

John Edwards has been banned from making a speech at the democratic convention for having an affair and lying about it.

Bill Clinton will speak in his place.

Health Update 8/22

I went to the oncologist today. Pretty good news. The cancer had grown just slightly but most of the other blood tests and counts were normal. A couple of my liver tests were a little abnormal, which isn't the first time, so I took a copy of the tests to my endocrinologist. I will continue the regime of thalidomide for another three (3) months to see if the cancer reduces or stays the same.

I don't go back to the oncologist for six (6) weeks. Yeah!

POTP - convention 1 set to begin

Monday the first session of the POTP (Part Of The Problem) convention is set to begin in Denver. That is the Democratic convention. Convention 2 is set to begin the following Monday in Minneapolis... the Republican Convention. Yes, the POTP convention is in two sessions this year, back to back but in different cities and states.

My contribution to the POTP Convention 1 leads off with a fairy tale:

Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs
(A Political Fable)

The seven dwarfs always left to go work in the mine early each morning. As always, Snow White stayed home doing her domestic chores.

As lunchtime approached, she would prepare their lunch and carry it to the mine.

One day as she arrived at the mine with the lunch, she saw that there had been a terrible cave-in. Tearfully, and fearing the worst, Snow White began calling out, hoping against hope that the dwarfs had somehow survived.

'Hello!..Hello!' she shouted. 'Can anyone hear me? Hello!'

For a long while, there was no answer. Losing hope, Snow White again shouted, 'Hello! Is anyone down there?'

Just as she was about to give up all hope, she heard a faint voice from deep within the mine, singing . . ...
'Vote for Barack Obama! - Vote for Barack Obama!'
Snow White fell to her knees, crossed herself and prayed,
'Oh, thank you, God! At least Dopey is still alive...

To continue...

A quote or two from Barack: "It's words, just words!" "We may see gas prices at $12 a gallon."

Barack has been concerned about McCain owning multiple houses with his millionaire wife. Keep in mind that Barack and Michelle live in a house that cost more than $1.5 million and convicted felon Tony Resko helped them purchase it. How many houses does Nancy Pelosi, Diane Finestein, or Ted Kennedy own?"

And remember before Barack we had never heard of Tony Resko, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Father Flager or Bill Ayers. Barack provided each of these wonderful friends their 15 minutes of fame. Aren't we thankful we got to know each of them.

Don't forget to watch the POTP Convention 1 starting on Monday. By the way, KC television says Evan Bayh is the VP choice.

treaty with Poland

The United States has just signed a treaty with Poland to allow us to place "defensive" missiles in the the country only 115 miles from Russia. Needless to say Russia is not happy about this and does not believe they are "defensive." Russian officials have said that Poland will pay a price for this action and I believe they will.

When the Soviet Union wanted to place missiles in Cuba, only 90 miles from the U.S., we objected. Cuba has paid the price for this action for the past 40+ years through an U.S. embargo.

Personally, I believe that the U.S. is wrong with this treaty and Russia has every right to be upset. The U.S. should back off of this treaty, Congress should not approve this treaty and the U.S. government should find another location for the missiles. Surely, this is not the only location these missiles can be placed.

God's answer

This is the beginning of God's answer to "Habakkuk's complaint."

"Look at the nations and watch—
and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
that you would not believe,
even if you were told." Habakkuk 1:5

Isn't it true even today that we are amazed at what God does?

Isn't it true that even if we are told we do not believe what he does in our days?

Fresh Power by Jim Cymbala

imageFresh Power: Experiencing the Vast Resources of the Spirit of God is another in a series of books I have read by Jim Cymbala. Although I enjoyed this book a great deal I liked the other two better. This one just didn't seem quite as powerful as the others but , again, it was worth the read.

In this book Cymbala draws examples from the Bible and from the streets of New York City to show the power and strength of the Holy Spirit. One of the most interesting and powerful examples pertains to his and his wife's relationship with David Berkowitz, known as "Son of Sam."

This book provides a reminder that we need the Holy Spirit in our lives.

the new czar is establishing his territory

I don't normally post the entire "Flash Traffic" when I do post it but this time the Joshua Fund report is important. It tells of an amazing conversion to Christ that we should all be lifting up.

* * * * FLASH TRAFFIC: WASHINGTON UPDATE * * * *

SOBERING LESSONS FROM GEORGIA DISASTER
Also: I have a new weblog address. See below.

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., August 15, 2008) -- Russia and Georgia agreed to a cease fire on August 12th. Yet at this hour, Russian forces continue to seize more Georgian territory.

The Bush administration, frankly, has done a lousy job defending our democratic ally against Putin's aggression. The Europeans have done even worse. We are finally airlifting in humanitarian relief supplies. This is good. But shouldn't we have been airlifting in weapons and ammunition around the clock, like we did to help Israel during the 1973 war? The Georgians feel alone. Because they are. The White House keeps warning Putin to back off or face "repercussions." What kind? The administration refuses to be clear, so why should Putin take such bluster seriously?

Some sobering lessons have been learned this week from the Georgia disaster. Among them:

1. Putin is a new Russian Czar who wants to rebuild the Russian empire and will use force to get his way.

2. Neither the U.S. nor NATO are willing to be firm in Europe in defending a key ally against violent aggression. No one wants a war with Russia. But we have to do better than this. Such impotence in the face of Russian imperialism bodes ill for Ukraine, Poland, Armenia, Azerbaijan and other Western allies increasingly being intimidated by the Kremlin.

3. Based on events this week, Israel should be wary about accepting American or European security guarantees in any future peace deal with her neighbors.

4. A Russian attack on a democratic ally can happen fast, and almost without warning. This has prophetic implications, when you think about the prophecies of Ezekiel 38-39 and a "last days" war by Russia, Iran and a Mideast alliance against Israel.

5. Russia and Iran want to control the production and flow oil and natural gas in the Caucases. Both want to dominate energy supplies in Turkey.

SON OF HAMAS LEADER TURNS TO CHRIST

A huge story broke first in Israel in Haaretz about a week ago, and now on the Fox News Channel. The son of the leader of Hamas has renounced his affiliation with the terrorist group, has renounced Islam, and has become a follower of Jesus Christ. The full-length interviews are absolutely fascinating. Links to both stories are available on The Joshua Fund weblog.

Please pray:

1. That this young man's faith deepens and grows and that he can be discipled by an older, wiser man of God.

2. That the Lord keeps this young man safe from those Radical jihadists who would try to take his life.

3. That the Lord would answer his prayers and his family's eyes and hearts would be opened and they would all come to faith in Jesus as well.

4. That other Hamas leaders and Muslims throughout the West Bank and Gaza -- as well as all Israelis who are hearing this story -- would be moved by this young man's spiritual journey and begin asking why he did it.

5. That the Lord would continue to build His church in the Holy Land, and not allow the gates of Hell to prevail against it.

This is very good news. At the same time, my colleagues and I continue to believe that there is a serious likelihood of war between Israel and Iran in the next few months. The Joshua Fund, therefore, is doing everything we can to prepare for that war, should it come. Our staff has just returned from Israel where they have been for the last three weeks. They were meeting with our key allies and making preparations to pre-position more relief supplies. Specifically, they are looking for warehouse space, office space, and vehicles to move the supplies. We would be grateful for your continued prayers for those needs.

We would be especially grateful for your prayers that the Lord would provide an additional $1 million above and beyond our regular budget, and do so by September 1st so that we can secure those facilities and fill them with supplies.

Thanks so much for standing with us as prayer and financial partners. As always, The Joshua Fund will continue to do our best to keep you up-to-date on the kinds of projects we are doing, brief you on how those projects are proceeding. We will also let you know about the kinds of projects we are developing for the future. In no way do we want to pressure anyone to give financially. We fully believe the Lord will provide for the needs of the people we seek to serve. But if you or others wish to help, we welcome your support, and all financial gifts are tax-deductible.

patriotism

Last night I watched a little of the Olympics because I knew that Michael Phelps would be swimming again. In the 200-meter he took the gold medal by breaking his own world record. Team mate, Peter Vanderkaay, took the bronze medal.

I was touched and felt especially proud when after they received their medal the Star Spangled Banner was played and both boys put their right hand over their heart. The media has made comment about how nice each of these young men are. It is obvious that someone taught them to be proud of their country and the proper stance to take when the national anthem is played.

There are a lot of older adults that could take some lessons from these young men... some of which are running for public office.

Roseola

I had a day late last week that I felt poorly all day. It wasn't any particular ache or pain it was just a "not right" day. By Friday I had some blister type sores on my fingers that is typical for me when I'm getting a sinus infection. By Friday evening I had some rash on the inside of my forearms and by Saturday I had a rash pretty much all over except my face.

So, this morning I went to see my primary care physician and he didn't know what to make of it until I said my grandson had had roseola. He left the examination room and came back with a pediatrician. She came in with two books, started looking at me and reading and finally said she thought I have roseola. However, just to make sure my platelets are okay they decided to do some blood work.

Wouldn't you know, I finished getting all my immunizations in May and I catch the one thing that there isn't an immunization for! Isn't life grand!!

RUSSIA, ISRAEL AND WAR

* * * * FLASH TRAFFIC: WASHINGTON UPDATE * * * *

RUSSIA, ISRAEL AND WAR ...

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., August 11, 2008) -- Is anyone out there still hesitant to describe Vladmir Putin as a dangerous, destablizing Czar who is an enemy, not a friend, of the West? When Epicenter was first published in September 2006, some thought I was overstating Putin's threat to the free world. If anything, I was understating it. The last 96 hours have made that quite clear, has it not?

Russian forces at this hour are still bombing the daylights out of the citizens of Georgia. They are still trying to overthrow Georgia's democratically-elected leaders. They are still trying to eliminate Georgia as a pipeline route for Caspian Sea oil flowing to the West. But controlling this former Soviet republic is not Moscow's highest objective. Putin and his Kremlin cronies want to control (if not own outright) Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey, as well. They are Hell-bent on dominating all of the peoples of the Caucuses as part of a revived Russian imperialism that sees the future of the country inextricably tied to pushing southward and linking up with Islamic allies throughout the Middle East.

And as I noted in Friday's Flash Traffic, Putin is unmistakably the man in charge, not President Dmitry Medvedev. Who else but Putin would have had the gall to sit there on Friday night at the (visually stunning) opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Beijing -- a time to celebrate international unity and cooperation -- smiling and glad-handing when he had just launched a war that has already killed more than 2,000 people? ...
