Frivolous Law Suit

Administrative Judge Roy Pearson has lost his $54 million suit against Washington dry cleaners owned by a Korean couple. The suit stemmed from the cleaners losing the pants to a $1,000 suit owned by Judge Pearson. Later the couple found the pants and offered to return them but the Judge refused to accept them back.

U.S District Judge Judith Bartnoff ruled Washington's Consumer Protection Act was not violated when the owner's of Custom Cleaner's failed to meet Roy L. Pearson's standards. Judge Bartnoff wrote in her opinion, "Plaintiff Roy L. Pearson, Jr. takes nothing from the defendants, and defendants Soo Chung, Jin Nam Chung and Ki Y. Chung are awarded the costs of this action against the plaintiff Roy L. Pearson, Jr." The Chungs has asked for the return of their attorney fees and the judge is to rule at a later date as whether Pearson will have to reimburse them.

I hope Judge Bartnoff rules that Pearson must repay the Chungs for their legal fees. In addition, I feel Judge Pearson should, at the very least, be removed from the bench for bringing "frivolous law suits." I think he abused his status as a judge (even though he was an administrative judge) to try to intimidate this couple. In reality, I would like to see Pearson dis-barred!

Don't re-elect incumbents!
