Speaking Bible

Too many "left wingers" want to get the Bible out of our educational systems and lives. In order to do this they need to think about how much the Bible is in our daily lives.

To begin with, let's look at the names of some cities in just a few states:

  • In Pennsylvania there is Bethlehem and Nazareth and Emmaus and Bethsaida and Shiloh and Bethel and Eden and Ephrathah and Zionsville and New Jerusalem.
  • In Texas there is Palestine and Hebron and Eden and Joshua and Temple and Bishop and Blessing and Corpus Christi.
  • And, in California there is Antioch and Carmel and Goshen and Bethel Island and Joshua Tree and Temple City.
These are just a few in three states. Shall we rename all of the cities in all of the states with Biblical names?
A great number of the expressions that we use commonly in the English language came right out of the Bible--expressions like:
  • "the apple of his eye" --Deuteronomy 32:10
  • "eat, drink and be merry"--Ecclesiastes 8:15
  • "The blind leading the blind," Jesus said --Matthew 15:4
  • "Let not your heart be troubled" --John 14:1
The words adoption, busybody, scapegoat--- All of these were introduced as words as a part of the translation of the Bible to the King James Version.
In today's English, we speak Bible everyday!
